PeeWee A - Alliance 1, Duncanville Dragons 5:  After a late Friday night NTXHL Playoff  game, the Bulldogs were back on the ice Saturday morning looking to "slay" those Dragons from Duncanville.  The Dragons ended up winning the game but the final score was not indicative of the play by the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs came out and really dominated the first period of play with 10 shots to 2.   Although there was no scoring after one, the Bulldogs were always attacking and had several power play opportunities but could not convert.

The Dragons came out attacking hard in the second, and at 13:56 the Dragons scored to take the lead 1-0.   A few minutes later, the Dragons answered again at 10:21 to make it 2-0.  Both teams paid regular visits to the sin bin during the period, and the Bulldogs had two back-to-back ones in the middle of the period that they were able to kill nicely.  The Dragons continued to attack and scored their third on an even strength goal at 2:34.   It was Deja Vu all over again though, as the Bulldogs stayed aggressive also, and scored their first goal with 19 seconds left in the 2nd period to get right back in the game at 3-1.   Total shots were still in favor of the Bulldogs 17 to 13.

The third period was set up to be anyone's game, but at 13:28 the Dragons pulled away, scoring their fourth goal of the game to make their lead 4-1.   The Bulldogs continued to play hard and had nice chances, especially two power play opportunities, but could not find the back of the net. The Dragons iced the game with their fifth goal at 5:11 left for the final 5-1 tally.  The Bulldogs played well against the Dragons the whole game, and even out shot the Dragons for a final 29 shots to 20, but the Dragons were able to capitalize on several key Bulldog breakdowns.

The Bulldogs next NTXHL Playoff game is against the Lone Star Wolves Saturday night in Euless.

PeeWee A - Alliance 2, Texas Aces-White 3 (OT):  The Bulldogs faced off against the Aces-White in their second playoff game of the NTXHL Playoffs in Duncanville Friday night, and like their first playoff game, this game would also go to overtime.  The outcome would be different though, as the Aces would edge the Bulldogs in OT.

The Bulldogs started the game strong and scored first at 13:12 left in the 1st period for a 1-0 lead.  The Aces answered back later by scoring at 8:22 left to make it 1-1.   Several minutes later, the Aces received a penalty and the Bulldogs capitalized on a power play with their second goal at 4:30 remaining to take the lead again at 2-1.   The remainder of the period saw the Bulldogs on the defensive, killing off two penalties in which they were successful. Shots on goal at the end of one were Bulldogs 11 and Aces 8.

In the 2nd period, the Bulldogs continued to outplay the Aces, but at 9:18 left, the Aces got a break and scored to tie the game again at 2-2.  The rest of the period saw the Bulldogs continuing to be aggressive with their offense, and stingy with their defense, only allowing the Aces three shots in the period. The second period ended with no other scoring.

The third period saw a lot of strong play by both teams, but the Bulldogs again were the attackers.  Despite a scoreless third period, there was a lot of battling and opportunities to score by both teams.   Final score after regulation remained 2-2 and the Bulldogs had out shot the Aces 29 to 18 for three periods of play.   A 3:00 minute over time was issued and at 1:43 left, the Aces found the back of the net to edge the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs next NTXHL Playoff game is against the Duncanville Dragons Saturday morning in Euless.

PeeWee A - Alliance 3, Junior Stars 3:  Let the Games begin! Playoffs that is.  Wednesday night in Euless the Bulldogs and Jr. Stars met to claim their first "W" of the NTXHL Playoffs.  As always, these two teams match up very evenly and this game outcome would be no different.

The game didn't start out close, though, as the Jr. Stars jumped out early scoring an even strength goal within several minutes of the start of the game.  Despite having one power play opportunity that was shorted, the Bulldogs found themselves on the penalty kill three times towards the end of the period and at 1:09 left, the Jr. Stars capitalized on a 5-on-3 power play and scored to make it 2-0. The Jr. Stars dominated play in the first period and out shot the Bulldogs 13 to 2.

The Jr. Stars continued their aggressive play into the second by scoring on the first shift of the period at 14:39 to take a 3-0 lead. The Bulldogs went on the defensive, killing off two more penalties at 13:30 and 11:28, and then found their momentum towards the last part of the period.  The Bulldogs stayed tenacious, and with 20 seconds left in the period, scored to get back in the game at 3-1. The momentum had been shifting and the Bulldogs were finding their groove.  After two periods, the shots were 20-6 in the Jr. Stars favor.

The Bulldogs knew they had to come out in the third and dial their play up, and at 11:26 the Bulldogs did exactly that by scoring their second goal of the game to make it 3-2.   The Bulldogs continued to attack, and at 6:16 left they netted their third goal to tie the game up.  The rest of the period continued with the Bulldogs battling and creating nice opportunities. Thanks to strong Bulldog goaltending the game finished tied, and a 3:00 minute over time was played to help decide a winner, but that would not happen.  Final shots were Alliance 11 and Junior Stars 25.

The Bulldogs next NTXHL Playoff game is against the Texas Aces-White Friday night in Duncanville.

PeeWee A - Alliance 3, Duncanville Dragons 7:  The Bulldogs lose to the Dragons in their last regular NTXHL season game Sunday in Duncanville.  The first period was all Dragons who jumped out early in the game scoring 2 even strength goals, with the first goal going in early at 14:18 left, the second at 6:27 left.

The Dragons continued their dominating play into the second period by scoring their third goal at 7:23 left for a 3-0 lead.   Minutes later the Bulldogs found themselves on the power play, but it was shortened with a penalty of their own in which the Dragons capitalized, and scored their fourth goal at 1:41 left.  The Bulldogs didn't give up, and got on the board right at the end of the period scoring their first goal with 8.9 seconds left to make it 4-1 at the end of the 2nd period.

The Bulldogs were determined to win the third and finish strong, and came out that way, scoring their second goal of the game at 13:56 to keep them in the game at 4-2.  The Dragons had other ideas, and quickly answered back with a goal at 13:12 to give them a 3-goal lead at 5-2.  Continued pressure from the Dragons paid off, as they scored again at 10:49 to make it 6-2.  The Dragons were called on a penalty in which the Bulldogs went on the power play, and Alliance capitalized with a goal from the point at 6:03 left to make it 6-3.  The Dragons finished the game strong by netting their final goal at 5:11 left.

The Bulldogs now get ready for the 1st Annual NTXHL Playoffs, with their first post-season game against the Dallas Jr. Stars on Wednesday, March 30th at the StarCenter in Euless at 8:15 PM.

PeeWee A - Alliance 1, Texas Aces-White 1:  The scoring remained "Low" but the hockey was at a big time "High" for the Bulldogs Thursday night at the PSA Center in Plano.  Despite past game results, the Bulldogs had something to prove and that was to show the Aces they can match up against them just fine thank you.  Tonight they proved it by being the aggressor and leaving everything on the ice.

The first period started out fast and aggressive by both teams, and early in the period the Bulldogs found themselves on two power play opportunities with hopes of striking first.  Despite the heavy pressure and shots on the Aces, the Bulldogs were unable to convert.  At 6:40 left, the Aces got a break and scored on a shot that deflected off an Aces player's helmet and into the Bulldog net.  Too bad the official missed the Aces player standing right there in the crease when the goal was scored (oops).  The Bulldog penalty kill went into action two minutes later, and set the standard of how "Spot On" their penalty kill would be that night.  With 57 seconds left in the period, the Bulldogs answered back with a goal to tie it up and take the momentum into the second.

The Bulldogs started the second looking to continue winning battles and taking away time and space from the Aces.  Roughly midway through the period, the Bulldogs ran into penalty trouble and would need to rely even more on their strong penalty kill abilities when they faced a 5-on-3.  The Bulldogs did another excellent job on the kill, allowing little opportunity for the Aces to score.  With 3:00 minutes left, the tables turned, and the Aces were on the defensive having to kill a 5-on-3.  They also were successful on the kill, despite heavy pressure from the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs continued their tenacious play in the third by playing penalty free, and battling for everything - pucks, time, space - you name it.   Although the game ended in a tie, the Bulldogs clearly finished first with their strong team performance from all 14 players.

The Bulldogs next and last NTXHL regular season game is a make-up game against the Duncanville Dragons Sunday March 13th in Duncanville.

PeeWee A - LS Wolves 2, Alliance 1:   The Bulldogs played it tough and kept it a one-shot game, but the one shot belonged to the Wolves, as they scored on a deflected shot off a skate for the close win in this NTXHL contest at Valley Ranch on Saturday morning.  The Wolves edged the Bulldogs, but the Bulldogs clearly won in the effort department.

You could tell it was going to be a good game from the start as the Bulldogs came out strong and ready to play. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs were called to the sin bin early in the game, and the Wolves capitalized on a power play goal at 9:06 to take the 1-0 lead. The Bulldogs continued to play hard, but received a second penalty late in the period (2:26), but this time were able kill it off effectively.

The Bulldogs continued their strong efforts in the second and at 11:16 they answered with their first goal to tie it 1-1. Less then a minute later, the Bulldogs found themselves on a power play and an opportunity to take the lead, but were unable to convert.  The remainder of the period saw both teams playing tough, but at 2:09 left the Wolves found the net to take the lead again at 2-0.

The Bulldogs played the third determined to tie and take the game back with hard work and strong attacking, but the Bulldogs again received another penalty at 12:09 that ended a strong rush at the time.  Thanks to an excellent penalty kill, the Bulldogs stayed in the chase.  At 8:50 left, the Wolves received a penalty and gave an opening for the Bulldogs to tie the game.  The Bulldogs had a strong power play attack, but were unable to convert.  The boys never let up the rest of the game, and had numerous opportunities that just didn't go in.

The Bulldogs next NTXHL game is against the Texas Aces-White Thursday, March 3rd at PSA-Plano at 7:45pm.

PeeWee A - LA Hockey Club 7, Alliance 1:   The Alliance PeeWee A team knew going into the Gold Medal Game of the California State Games in San Diego that their opponent would be all they could handle and then some.  The Bulldogs played it tight for almost the entire 1st period, but then the dam struck a leak as the LA Hockey Club scored 3 goals in the last 2 minutes of the period to take a 3-0 lead into the 2nd frame.

The dam broke in the second, as LAHC scored 4 more, but Alliance ruined the shutout with a goal of their own to make it 7-1 after 2 periods of play.  The Bulldogs kept playing hard and held the boys from LA off the board in the final period.  The Bulldogs return home with Silver Medals for their fine efforts while in California.  They will also return to NTXHL action this weekend as they will face the Lone Star Wolves at Valley Ranch on Saturday.

PeeWee A - LA Hockey Club 5, Alliance 0:   The LA Hockey Club is one of the top youth hockey programs in the west, and they proved it in Game 3 of the California State Games in San Diego Sunday afternoon.  The Bulldogs stayed in the game through 2 periods, allowing no goals in the 1st, and 3 in the second.  The 3rd period was the Bulldogs' chance to make it a game, but the California team was just too much for them and the game ended with LAHC getting 2 more in the 3rd for the 5-0 win.  The Bulldogs will get another chance at this team, though, as the result of other games allowed the Bulldogs to earn their way into the Gold Medal Championship game against the LA Hockey Club on Monday.

PeeWee A - Alliance 3, Pueblo 3:   The Pueblo Panthers came out hot, scoring just 10 seconds into the 1st period, and then added to their lead with another tally just over a minute later to start with a 2-0 lead over Alliance in Game 2 of the California State Games in San Diego Saturday night.  But Bulldogs never quit, and these Bulldogs were true to that nture and battled back to gain the tie.

Alliance would reduce the lead to 2-1 at the 9:16 mark of the first period, and the period would end with the Panthers still on top by that score.  The 2nd period saw Pueblo regain the 2-goal lead when they scored again with 2:56 remaining in the period, and the 3rd would begin with the score 3-1 in favor of the boys from Colorado.  The Bulldogs would pull to within one again at 8:07, and it looked like it might end that way.  Alliance would have no part of losing by a goal, and fought hard to tie it with a late goal with only 1:07 remaining in the game to make the final score 3-3.

PeeWee A - Alliance 3, Phoenix 0:   After a long flight and playing in unfamiliar territory, you would think the Bulldogs would not be sharp.  These guys came ready to play, though, and posted a well earned shutout win over the Phoenix Firebirds in Game 1 of the California State Games in San Diego Friday afternoon.  Alliance took a commanding 2-0 lead in the 1st period on an even strength goal at 8:50, and then added a power play tally just 2 minutes later.

The Bulldogs would then extend their lead to 3-0 at the 9:35 mark of the 2nd period, and would ride excellent goaltending the rest of the way for their 6th shutout win of the season.  The 'Dogs will back in action on Saturday, as they face the Pueblo Panthers of Colorado in Game 2. followed by a Torch Lighting Ceremony Saturday evening.

PeeWee A - Ice Jets 4, Alliance 0:   After trailing 2-0 at the end of the 2nd period, the Bulldogs were hoping to close the gap in the 3rd, but the Ice Jets had ideas of their own, and added 2 more to take home the win in this NTXHL contest at Valley Ranch on Sunday morning.

The Bulldogs came out strong and played toe-to-toe with the Ice Jets the majority of the first period battling to see who would score first. Then at 3:11 left, the Ice Jets answered first on a wrap around goal to gain the lead and momentum. The Bulldogs received a penalty at 1:07 left, which carried over into the second.

The second period continued with the Bulldogs keeping their efforts high but at 10:19 the Ice Jets answered again on an even strength goal to make it 2-0. The remainder of the period saw both teams getting chippie and seeing time in the penalty box.

The Bulldogs started the third period very much in the game, but the Ice Jets kept attacking and netted an even strength goal at 11:55.  Frequent penalties hurt the Bulldogs and any opportunity to make it a game. Fortunately the Bulldogs penalty kill was spot on this game. At 5:30 left the Ice Jets scored their fourth goal.

The Bulldogs won't feel bad for long, as they hit the road for sunny San Diego this next weekend for the California State Games

PeeWee A - Texas Aces-White 6, Alliance 2:  Bulldogs drop this one to the Texas Aces-White in their fourth NTXHL meeting Sunday at Valley Ranch.  The Aces jumped out early in the game scoring 3 even strength goals in the first period, with the first going in at 1:10 into the game.

The Aces continued their dominating play scoring their second and third goals at 5:59 and 4:52.  The Bulldogs were not able to rally any late period scoring opportunities due to two late penalties in which they were successful in killing both.

The Bulldogs started the second period on a power play but were not able to convert into a goal. The penalties continued with Alliance receiving the next penalty at 11:13 in which the Aces converted their power play into a goal at 11:03. Penalties on both teams continued until the period ended with the score 4-0 Aces.

The Bulldogs were determined to win the third and finish strong, in which they gave a great effort. The period didn't start that way though, as the Aces scored on the first shift of the period at 14:33 to make the lead 5-0. The Bulldogs didn't give up and answered back with their first goal coming off a steal at 12:45.  The Bulldogs continued their efforts to win the period with a power play goal at 10:21 to cut the margin to 3 at 5-2, but the Aces finished strong, scoring their sixth goal on a short-handed goal with 1:02 left in the game.

The Bulldogs are back in action Sunday February 13 against the Ice Jets at Valley Ranch.

PeeWee A - Alliance 3, Junior Stars 2:  Bulldogs out shined the Junior Stars in their fourth NTXHL meeting Saturday at Farmers Branch. The Bulldogs looked to find their winning ways against a team that always has made for close competitive games and this meeting would be no different.

The first period was very evenly matched with both teams playing hard and having opportunities to score first. The Bulldogs played penalty free hockey the whole period and at 10:01, had a power play opportunity to strike first, but were unable to convert. The Bulldogs played hard the remainder of the period with strong back checking and defense, only allowing 8 shots in which some were low percentage shots.

The second period started much the same way the first was, until 10:24 when the Junior Stars scored on a controversial goal in which the puck was in question of crossing the goal line. Aside from the bad call, the Bulldogs didn't let up, stayed positive and came back even more determined.   At 1:53 left in the period the Bulldogs answered, netting their first goal and taking the momentum they needed into the third with the score tied 1-1. Shots after two were Bulldogs 15 and Junior Stars 19.

The Bulldogs used their momentum and came out flying in the third period scoring their second goal at 14:36 and taking the lead at 2-1.  Not to let the game get out of reach, the Junior Stars answered back quickly with a goal at 14:00 to tie the game back up at 2-2. Two penalties followed with the Bulldogs receiving the first at 12:13 and the Junior Stars at 11:37.   Now with a 4-on-4, Alliance kept pressure in the offensive zone until scoring on a big wrist shot from the point at 11:17 for the lead again at 3-2.

There was a lot of game left in which the Bulldogs stayed strong against some heavy attacks/shots by the Junior Stars.   With 2:15 left in the game, the Bulldogs received a penalty, which looked to give the Junior Stars an opening to get back into the game.  Thanks to a strong penalty kill and great goaltending, the Bulldogs held off the late rally by the Junior Stars to Win the Game!  Final shots were Bulldogs 22, Junior Stars 35.

The Bulldogs are back in action Sunday against the Texas Aces-White at Valley Ranch.

PeeWee A - Lone Star Wolves 5, Alliance 1:  Bulldogs get “bit” by the Wolves in their third NTXHL meeting Sunday in Grapevine. This game looked to be a “dog fight” against the first place Wolves given the two earlier NTXHL games played this season that ended in a close one goal win by the Wolves, and a 2-2 tie in the second meeting.

The Wolves jumped out early in the game scoring two even strength goals in the first at 13:35 and 11:07. There was no lack of effort by the Bulldogs though as they battled hard, but were not able to muster much offense and were out shot 13 to 4 at the end of the first.

The Bulldogs did a nice job killing off a late first period penalty that carried over into the beginning of the second which kept the Bulldogs very much in the game. At 9:35 the Bulldogs looked to capitalize on their first power play opportunity, but it was short lived as they got another penalty less than a minute later. Both teams later received two more penalties in which the Wolves capitalized on a power play goal late with 2:22 left. Shots on goal after two were Wolves 19, Bulldogs 6.

The Bulldog's hopes to win the third period were dashed early as the Wolves netted their fourth goal at 11:47 from an unfortunate deflection off a Bulldogs skate. Penalties continued with both teams into the third with the Bulldogs having the edge on a power play at 11:20 but could not capitalize.  The end of the game saw both teams scoring, with the Wolves netting their fifth at 4:27 and not to be shut out, the Bulldogs rallied with their first goal at 2:09 left. Final shots on goal were Wolves 29, Bulldogs 11.

Reserve your tickets now and come support your Bulldogs as they are back in action with two
NTXHL games next Saturday against the Dallas Junior Stars at Farmers Branch and Sunday against the Texas Aces-White at Valley Ranch.

PeeWee A - Ice Jets 7, Alliance 1:  Did you get the number of that truck? The Bulldogs ran into a tough Ice Jets team in a lopsided NTXHL game Saturday night at Valley Ranch. The Ice Jets jumped out early in the game scoring 3 goals in the first period, with the first goal going in on the first shift of the game. Their second goal was a power play goal at 8:30 and their third score was at 2:57 left. The Bulldogs rallied at the end of the first when they found the back of the net from a nice shot from the point with 1:42 left.

The goal gave the Bulldogs a boost as they came out stronger in the second battling the Ice Jets back and forth. Both teams found themselves in the “box” several times with the Ice Jets serving the first two penalties giving the Bulldogs a chance to make it a game, but they could not answer on either power play opportunity. Then the tables turned and the Bulldogs found themselves serving the next two penalties, in which the Ice Jets converted on their second power play with a goal at 3:22 left. Seconds later the Ice Jets answered on an even strength goal at 3:10 left.

The third period found the Bulldogs serving several more penalties in which the Ice Jets capitalized on a power play goal at 11:25, then adding insult to injury the Ice Jets scored a short handed goal at the end of the game with 2:40 left. The Bulldogs will look to get themselves back on track quickly as they play the Lone Star Wolves Sunday morning in Grapevine.

PeeWee A - Texas Aces White 4, Alliance 1:  Third time's NOT the charm for these Bulldogs as their hopes to finally beat the Aces were dashed in their third meeting in a NTXHL game at Valley Ranch. This game had extra riding on it as both teams were tied for fourth in the NTXHL standings.

Play started off pretty even in the first, until the Aces capitalized on a goal with 8:55 left. The Bulldogs had chances to even the score with two power play opportunities later in the period, but were not able to answer.

The Bulldogs looked to take the game back early in the second period, tying the Aces on a power play goal at 14:18 left and hoping to shift the momentum. The Aces had different ideas and shortly answered back with a goal at 9:56 left and kept the lead and edge the rest of the period.

The Aces owned the third period by never letting up and increased their lead with two goals at 12:30 and 9:55 left.   The Bulldogs had two penalties (one matching with Aces) and could never rally, in-spite of two late period power play opportunities.   Total shots were Bulldogs 22 and Aces 15.

The Bulldogs will shake off their post tournament let down loss and be ready to play two NTXHL games next weekend against the Ice Jets (Saturday) and Lone Star Wolves (Sunday).

Texas Star Winter Classic Tournament Champions!

PeeWee A - Alliance 3, Boulder Bison 2:  HOW SWEET IT IS! The Bulldogs turned the tables on the Boulder Bison's when it counted most in their second meeting at the Star Center in Plano for the PeeWee Black Championship game of the Texas Star Winter Classic Tournament in Plano on Monday morning.   There was no lack of excitement or effort in this high flying game as the Bulldogs came out hungry and looking to take what was theirs.

The Bison's struck first with an even strength goal at 6:31 left in the first period, then ran into penalty trouble the remainder of the period. The Bulldogs capitalized on their power play opportunities and scored two quick goals with 4:08 and 3:10 left to take the lead and momentum into the second.   Bulldog Goal tending was top shelf with shots on goal heavily in favor of the Bison's 13 to 6.

The Bulldogs momentum into the second helped as they turned around shots on goal in their favor 10-5 and scored their third Power Play goal with 7:25 left. A late period penalty on the Bulldogs allowed the Bison's back in the game with a power play goal at 2:49.

The third period looked to be a thriller with such a close game and so much on the line. Having taken advantage of their power play success in the first and second periods, the Bulldogs stepped it up and looked to their penalty kill expertise in the third, as they killed several penalties one of which was a 5:00 penalty at 5:58 left in the game. The long penalty kill and again top shelf goal tending was outstanding and was the crescendo to a great Bulldog TEAM victory!

PeeWee A - Boulder 2, Alliance 1:  A lot was riding on this game as it truly was a semi-final game where a win and or points equaled a chance to play in the Championship game of the Texas Star Winter Classic Tournament on Monday.

Their were no scoring in bunches this game by the Bulldogs as they faced a very equally matched team in a game where the Bison's edged out the Bulldogs 2-1.  Still, both teams had a lot of good offensive opportunities and the Bison's struck first with an even strength goal at 6:33 left in the first, giving them momentum.   The Bulldogs fell back on their heels a bit in the second with several penalties and heavy pressure in their own zone, which ultimately earned the Bison's their second goal at 9:20 left.

The Bulldogs regrouped and won the third period with tenacious effort, scoring with 2:09 left to mount a late charge. Goaltending was strong at both ends and shots were very even with Alliance having 19 and Boulder 21.

Because the Bulldogs finished second in points, they get a second chance and will play the Bison's in the Championship game on Monday
.

PeeWee A - Alliance 4, Florida Sharpshooters 0:  The PeeWee A team certainly likes to get their goals in bunches and in short time frames, as they did it again by scoring 3 goals in just over 2 minutes in the 1st period and got their 2nd straight 4-0 shutout in the Texas Star Winter Classic Tournament in Euless.

The Bulldogs added icing to the cake with another goal in the 2nd frame, and cruised to the victory.  Alliance controlled the game throughout, and ended the evening by out-shooting the Sharpshooters by a 29 to 14 margin.  They will now face the Boulder Bison on Sunday for the right to play in the Championship Game on Monday.

PeeWee A - Alliance 4, Arapahoe 0:  The Bulldogs started slow, but when they got a smell of the net, they pounced, as they scored 3 goals in just 51 seconds during the 2nd period to break open a tight one in the 1st Round of the Texas Star Winter Classic Tournament in Valley Ranch.

The game looked like it might go all the way to the end to determine the outcome, as the 1st period ended scoreless, and with both teams battling it out.  The 2nd period would end the anticipation.  The Bulldogs converted a shorthanded scoring chance by the Warriors into a power play goal, as a beautiful 2 on 1 was executed to perfection for the first goal of the game at 8:06 remaining in the 2nd period.

Alliance then rode the momentum of this goal for the next few minutes, as they controlled play and put enormous pressure on the Arapahoe defense.  At 3:19 to go in the 2nd was when the blitz started.  At even strength, the Bulldogs got a nice shot from the point that was deflected in front for the 2-goal lead.  Another really nice 2 on 1 conversion 23 seconds later made it 3-0, and it was time out time for the Arapahoe coaches.  The timeout resulted in the completion of the trifecta, as another 2 on 1 was played out to the familiar conclusion for the 4th goal at 2:28 remaining in the 2nd.  The 3rd period was still played very competitvely, but timely goaltending and tenacious defense left the scorers frustrated.   Alliance won the shot battle rather decisively at 27 to 12.

PeeWee A - Alliance 1, Wolves 1:   Battle, Battle, Battle was the theme of this game as the Alliance PeeWee team came out looking for redemption on the Lone Star Wolves in a NTXHL contest at Valley Ranch on Saturday.  The Wolves struck first with an early first period goal and Alliance then answered back with a late first period goal with just under a minute and a half left in the period. The second and third periods remained scoreless with a lot of battling back and forth, and opportunities by both teams to take the lead. The Bulldogs will be back in action as they participate in the Texas Star Winter Classic Tournament January 15-17.

The PeeWee A team hits the ice on Saturday, as they face the Lone Star Wolves in an NTXHL contest at Valley Ranch.  The Wolves are only one point back from the PeeWee A Division leaders as one of the top teams in the area.  The Bulldogs have battled Lone Star tough in the 2 games they have played thus far, dropping both by only a one goal margin at 3-2 each time.

PeeWee A - West Valley 7, Alliance 1: If there was ever a hockey game where the final score was no indication of the competitiveness of the contest, this was it.  The Bulldogs matched the Wolves in almost every category except two, and those were the difference.  Facing a team that was on average at least 4-6 inches taller and probably at least 20-30 pounds heavier per player, the Bulldogs played like their mascot name describes, like Bulldogs.

Alliance played with the bigger and stronger Wolves for the 1st period, and came away trailing only 1-0, with the shots 8-5 in favor of West Valley.  The only goal of the period was scored shorthanded in the Alliance end following a turnover, a shot from the face-off circle, and a rebound left in front.  The 2nd period would be when size and one particular West Valley player would make the difference.

West Valley center, big #66 Mark Palacios, was the size of a large Bantam or small Midget player, had the skills to go along with his size, and the Bulldogs had no match for him this night.   Palacios scored 4 goals and hit a cross-bar at least once during the game.  The Wolves would take control of the game in the 2nd, with 3 more goals, one on the power play.  The Bulldogs would continue to play hard, and never backed down from the very physical style of play, often initiating it themselves with aggressive checking and defense.

Alliance also made a good effort to move the puck with passes to teammates, and their efforts paid off as they made the score 4-1 with a powerplay goal of their own just over a minute into the 3rd period.  The momentum was short-lived, as West Valley would counter with another goal less than 2 minutes later on a nice pass from the half-boards that was re-directed at a severe angle just on top of the crease to make it 5-1.

The game was delayed at the 6:02 mark for several minutes as an Alliance player was helped off the ice with what appeared to be a rib injury.  At this point the Bulldogs were on fumes, but their effort remained, as well as that Bulldog feistiness.  The Wolves added 2 late goals, one on the power play, to make the final 7-1, a score that did not do the Alliance effort any justice.

The Bulldogs will take a well earned break over the New Year weekend, and then hit it hard next week with practice, and an NTXHL game against the Lone Stars Wolves on Saturday January 8th.

PeeWee A - OK City 6, Alliance 2:  The Bulldogs ran into the boys from across the Red River and found out why the Blazers are 8-4-1 in the PeeWee A Division of the Texoma league, as they dropped this 3rd round game of the International Silver Sticks Regional in Frisco Tuesday morning.  The Bulldogs would get no relief, as they face the West Valley Wolves of San Fernando Valley, California on Tuesday night.  The Wolves defeated OK City earlier in the tournament 6-2.

PeeWee A - Duncanville 3, Alliance 1:  The Duncanville Dragons scored on the man advantage early in the 3rd period to take a 2-1 lead, and then added an insurance goal late to skate away with a win against the Bulldogs in the International Silver Sticks Regional in Farmer's Branch on Monday.  battle

The Dragons struck first as they took a 1-0 lead after one period of play.  The Bulldogs would knot the score only 2 minutes into the 2nd, as they scored on a nice end-to-end rush with the man advantage.  Alliance would get a few chances around the Dragon goal, but a Bulldog could never get his stick on the puck in time to get a quality shot.  The game then would settle into a very tough battle, with the shots even at 8 each, and the 1-1 score would carry into the 3rd, when the outcome would be decided.

Just over 5 minutes into the 3rd period, the Dragons got the go-ahead goal, as they converted on the power play when a rebound was left loose in the Alliance low slot to be collected by Duncanville.  The Bulldogs had a quality shorthanded chance on the same power play, but was denied by the Dragon goalie.  With Alliance scrambling to get the tying goal, the Dragons would surprise the Bulldogs with a quick shot from low in the face-off circle to extend the lead to 3-1 with only 2:03 remaining.  Alliance would fight hard the rest of the way, but their chances disappeared when they took a hooking penalty and played the final 39 seconds short-handed.

The Bulldogs will be back at it again on Tuesday, as they open with an 11:30 am contest in Frisco against the Blazers of Oklahoma City, and then again at 8:00 pm against the West Valley Wolves at PSA in Plano. The Wolves are from the San Fernando Valley north of Los Angeles, California, and are currently in 1st Place of the PeeWee A Division of the Southern California Amateur Hockey League (SCAHA).  The Wolves defeated Oklahoma City 6-2 on Monday.

PeeWee A - Ice Jets 3, Alliance 2The Alliance PeeWee team faced the Ice Jets for the 3rd time this season, and for the 1st time came up empty handed as the Jets came from behind twice for the win in the International Silver Sticks Regional in Farmer's Branch on Saturday.

The Bulldogs controlled the game early and held leads of 1-0 and 2-1, but the Jets would tie the score again at 2-2 on a power play goal with just :59 left in the 2nd period.  After 2 periods, Alliance was out-shooting the Jets by a margin of 14 to 9.

The pace intensified in the 3rd period, as both teams went looking for the 1st round win.  The Ice Jets got the chance they needed, when just 1:06 into the period, they got a break-away opportunity and converted to make it 3-2.  With Alliance putting heavy pressure on the offensive end, the Ice Jets almost extended the lead just over 3 minutes later with another break-away, but the Bulldog goaltending was up to the task.

Alliance got their opportunity to tie it when with just 1:55 left in the game, they got a power play as the Ice Jets took a tripping call.  After a time out by Coach Keith Andresen, and with an empty net at the other end, the Bulldogs sent everything but the kitchen sink at the Ice Jets for the last 2 minutes.  The Jet defense and goalie held on for the 3-2 win, despite being outshot by the Bulldogs 21-14.

It's back to action again Monday in the 2nd Round, as Alliance will face the Duncanville Dragons in Frisco at 11:45.  The Dragons are undefeated in NTXHL play with 6-0-4 mark, but have come up winless against the Bulldogs the last 2 times they have met, with both games ending in a tie.
