Pete
Bailey grew up in Michigan playing travel hockey in the Detroit area.
In addition to being Assistant Coach for Alliance, he is handles the Special
Training Coaching duties for
Plano West High
School Hockey.
Mr. Bailey has 5 years of head coaching experience; has coached AA, A,
and B travel hockey as well as varsity and junior varsity high school hockey.
Pete coached the Varsity Richardson Redwings and the Junior Varsity in separate
years and made the playoffs with each club each season. He has coached for DJHA
for the last 3 years, working with Bantam B, A, and AA.
Pete played travel hockey for Garden City, Michigan. Pete's best season was with
his Peewee team, with a record of 58-5-2. The highlight of his playing career
was his midget year when his team played Team Sweden's U18 team in 1979. Some of
the Sweden players competed in the 1980 Olympics.
Mr. Bailey's coaching philosophy is based upon continuous learning and
improvement while working hard and having fun. He has attended the National
Hockey Coaches Symposium, and wrote a 15-page thesis to obtain his Level
5 Master Coaching Certification from USA Hockey. He encourages his
players to improve their skills, and learn something new about the game every
time they meet.
