Congratulations to the Alliance players listed below that were recently selected at the Rocky Mountain District (RMD) Development Camp in Salt Lake City to participate in the USA Hockey National Festival in their respective age groups.  Also making the National Boys U16 Festival is former Alliance Bulldog Colin Haas, who was promoted to the Dallas Stars Midget Major AAA team during this past season.  For more information about the Festivals, click here...

Tuesday, May 3, 2005     Alliance Well Represented at RMD Development Camp...

Congratulations to the Alliance players listed below that were recently selected at the Texas Affiliate Camp (TAC) in Houston to represent Texas and Oklahoma at the Rocky Mountain District (RMD) Development Camp, which is scheduled for May 4-8 at the Olympic Oval in Salt Lake City, Utah.  For more information about the RMD Camp, click here...

The  Alliance Youth Hockey Association will be conducting training sessions to prepare players for their participation in the TAC tryouts.  These training sessions will be held at Valley Ranch by the Alliance coaching staff to prepare the players for the types of drills and things they will be exposed to during the TAC.   There will be drills designed to help familiarize you with the TAC Camp regimen.  Discussions will also take place concerning what to wear, what the evaluators are looking for etc.  Players from ANY association are welcome to attend.

The specific times for these preparation sessions are indicated below, and they will be held on the following dates:

The cost will be $20.00 per session or $60.00 for 4 sessions payable the first night Wed March 16th starting at 7:00pm.   There is no on-line registration for this program. If you are paying by the session, you will be on the honor system to pay the coach the $20.00 PRIOR to skating.  This is not a fundraiser, we are only trying to cover the cost of the ice and instructor.  PLEASE bring a water for your own use.

Boys:

The Texas Affiliate Camp (TAC) will be hosted this year by TAHA with the assistance of the Houston Junior Aeros Hockey Association.   The Camp will be held at the Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center (formerly Aerodrome) in Sugar Land, Texas, on March 25-27, 2005. 

The objective of TAC is to evaluate those players who, in the judgment of their coaches, are the best players at their respective position and age group (Boys: 1988, 1989, 1990 or 1991).  TAC evaluators will select a limited number of players at each age group and position to represent TAHA at the Rocky Mountain District (RMD) Camp, which is scheduled for May 4-8 at the Olympic Oval in Salt Lake City, Utah.  For more information about the Boys TAC, click here...

Girls:

The TAC for girls will be at the Aerodrome Ice Skating Complex-Willowbrook in Houston, on March 19-20, 2005.  Unlike years past, girls do NOT need to be nominated by their local association. All eligible players are encouraged to attend. To be eligible, girls must be registered and in good standing with USA Hockey, must be a resident of Texas or Oklahoma, and must have been born in one of the following years (a copy of the player’s birth certificate must be sent in with the registration form):

1994*, 1993*, 1992, 1991, 1990, 1989, 1988, 1987, 1986*

*1994, 1993 and 1986 birthyears and non-U.S. citizens are eligible for the Texas Player Development Program (TXPDP), but cannot advance to the Rocky Mountain District Camp.  For more information about the Girls TAC, click here...
