Great Tournament Run Ends...
DJHA - 6, Alliance - 0: Sunday turned out to be a bad game for the Bulldogs. None of them really came out to play and were not mentally prepared for the game against the DJHA Penguins Major. They did not play their positions and were not skating hard. It was extremely hard for the Coaches and the parents to watch the boys end a great tournament on such a poor performance. Even thought they played poor they only allowed 6 goals. Overall the Bulldogs had a great tournament and had a blast with the tournament experience.

Alliance Mites Split Day 2 of Roundup...

They got a lot of penalties however, had many opportunities on power plays as well. The boys kept fighting and were within 2 goals until the 3rd period. They ran out of juice at the end of the game but were only out shot by 4 goals in the game which was a great improvement.
Alliance - 8, OK City - 0: On Saturday they had an early start with the OKC Jr. Blazers, but were fired-up and ready to play. They fought hard and prevented only 12 shots on goal and the goaltending was awesome! The defense played incredible and did a fantastic job keeping the puck in the offensive zone.

Bulldogs Improve with Smart Play...
DJHA - 6, Alliance - 0: The boys were not really excited to play DJHA Penguins Major however one of the captain’s asked the boy’s if they were ready to play some “smart hockey” and then they decided they were ready. They went out on the ice determined to prove they were a good team. Even though they lost, they cut the goals allowed in half from the first time they played them. They skated hard and played a great game proving that they were getting better. Keep fighting Dawg’s your looking great.

Mites Continue Hard Play...
Ice Jets - 6, Alliance - 0: The game started off really quick for the Ice Jets Major scoring in the first minute. The Dawgs had to dig in so the game would not get out hand and did just that. They picked up their pace and fought hard reducing the goals allowed in each period. The defense played another great game of blocking shots however could not stop them from scoring. They fought hard the entire game and never gave up. Remember boys you can beat anyone if you just BELIEVE!!!!

'Dogs Earn Shutout Win...
Alliance - 10, Jr. Scots - 0: The Bulldogs took their first win of the season on their back and kept pushing forward to beat the HP Scots 10-0. They kept the puck in the offensive zone the majority of the game playing their positions and passing the puck several times before scoring. The defense did a great job holding the blue line and only allowing 2 shots on goal the entire game. Great Team Work boys, keep it going.
Saturday, October 13, 2007
Alliance - 8, Jr. Brahmas - 1: The Mites won their NTXHL season opener on Saturday against the Jr. Brahmas. The dogs started off slow however got the first goal of the game from a face off before the end of the first period.
After that, there was nothing holding the bulldogs back. They were fired up and at that point got the momentum. They scored 4 more goals before giving up their only goal to the Jr. Brahmas but responded with 3 more goals.
The boys were playing hard and determined to prove that they were ready for the season to begin. With missing 2 players through the pre-season it was great to see the entire team on the ice and playing together.
The boys worked hard in holding the puck in the zone as well as not allowing the Jr. Brahmas to have scoring opportunities and creating scoring opportunities for us! All the hard work showed that they were ready. Great Job Bulldogs!!!

Mite 'Dogs Battle Back in Final Minutes...
Dallas Hawks Major - 4, Alliance - 3: In their last game of the weekend, the Bulldogs showed the character and competitiveness that will hopefully define their season, as they scored all 3 of their goals in the 3rd period to finish strong and with momentum.
With the clock ticking down the final 20 seconds, the Bulldogs had at least 3 quality shots and scoring chances, with the Dallas Hawks Major goalie denying their bid to tie the game and send it into overtime.
The Bulldogs were trailing 3-0 when they caught fire, as they tallied their first mark to make it 3-1 Hawks in the middle of the final frame. The Hawks rebounded to make it 4-1, but that was when these 'Dogs rose up and started barking.
Two more very late goals by Alliance made it 4-3 with less than a minute remaining, and the final scramble in the last few seconds gave everyone watching their cardiovascular exercise for the morning.
It was a good finish to the first weekend as a Bulldog for 13 of the Mites, as they quickly improved over just a 3 day period, and learned what it is like to be a Bulldog and never give up or quit. Alliance also played this weekend without two of their players, who were on the bench with injuries.
