Frozen 4 - Upsets in 3 of 4 Games Mark Day 1...
Less than a third of you out there called any of the other 3 games correctly, with Clarkson (31%), Michigan State (32%), and Notre Dame (24%) coming out on top of their higher seeded opponents to advance. With former DJHA/Dallas Storm defenseman Teddy Ruth (#5 in pic on the left) being a game starter and earning a +3, Notre Dame was the biggest surprise in their solid 7-3 win over #1 Regional/#4 National Seed New Hampshire.
Frozen 4 Action Starts Today, Contest Entry Closed...
Action starts this afternoon in the NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Championship Tournament, with St. Cloud State taking on Clarkson in an East Regional contest at 3:00pm in Albany, New York.
Top Seeded Michigan takes on Niagra in the other East Regional game, and there are also two West Regional tilts today, with Colorado College taking on Michigan State, and Notre Dame playing New Hampshire out in Colorado Springs. Action in the Northeast and Midwest Regionals starts on Saturday.
Entry into the Alliance Frozen 4 Contest is now closed, but to follow the game results and see how your picks work out, click on the "Bracket" button above, to see game results as they become available. Among the 16 teams in the tournament, you picked ten (10) different winners for the National Championship. Even though there were 10 different teams chosen to win it all, Michigan became the most overwhelming favorite in the 4-year history of the contest, as forty (40) people picked the Wolverines to bring home the bacon.
Among the remaining favorite teams to go all the way were North Dakota, Denver, and Colorado College. Only one team (Niagra) was not picked by anyone to win a game. In addition to areas all over Texas, we had entries from North Dakota, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Kentucky, Louisiana, and New Hampshire. Among the Top 4 favorites, here are the numbers choosing them to win it all:

4th Annual Alliance Frozen 4 Contest is Here...
Just like many of you already do for the NCAA Basketball Tournament, and did for the NCAA Hockey Frozen 4 last year, we are having another NCAA Hockey Frozen Four Bracket Contest. There is no money involved, and it is just for fun. However, there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place winners - nothing spectacular, just hockey related! Click on the "Bracket" button above and get started picking the winners...
TV Schedule Posted...
Well, we hope you will think about those tie-breaker numbers again, because it will probably come down to that to determine a winner, just like the last 3 years.
About the Contest...
You simply choose the teams you think will win each game, picking all games to the National Championship, fill out your information, and press the SUBMIT button. Games chosen correctly earn you points in the contest, with Round 1 games getting you 1 point for each correct winner chosen, and Round 2 games 3 points for each winner.
A correct Semi-Finalist will get you 7 points each, and you will earn 10 points for selecting the correct National Champion. Picking each game correctly will earn you a maximum of 44 total points. The top 3 points winners will receive prizes. The Tie-Breaker is the total goals scored by the National Champion in their 4 Games, with the closest guess being the winner.
Who did well in the tournament last year? Who has the goaltending? Who plays best against the tough teams? Who can upset the top teams? Where are the players from and what was their path to college? You may be a player on a Frozen Four team in the future!
If you change your mind after you submit, or if it is not the way you want it, come back to the Frozen 4 page and re-submit. We will register the most recent information you submit up until the Entry Deadline.
