'Dogs Drop Game 3 in Littleton...

 

Front Range - 6, Alliance - 2: This morning’s game started off the same as the last game last night with the Bulldogs taking 3 penalties in the first period. The Bulldogs turned away the Front Range Panthers scoring attempts and the first period end in a 0-0 tie. The Bulldogs quickly gave up a goal at the beginning of the second period.

 

Finding themselves down, 1-0, the Bulldogs began to find their legs and started to put pressure on the Panthers. However, the Bulldogs giving up odd man rushes found themselves down 2-0 over halfway through the second period. The Bulldogs continued to get scoring chances and with 5 minutes left in the second, the Bulldogs wristed the puck past the Panther goalie bringing the score 2-1 in favor of the Panthers.

 

The Bulldogs tried to get things going in the third period out shooting the Panthers 16-6, but still came up short, scoring just one time. The Bulldogs fell to the Panthers 6-2 for their second loss of the tournament.

16UAA Opens Mile High with Thanksgiving Split...

 

West Coast HC - 6, Alliance - 1: This evening’s game began with Bulldogs again drawing the first set of penalties putting themselves killing off a 5 on 3. 28 seconds short of successfully kill off the 5 on 3 West Coast Hockey Club found the back of the net. The Bulldogs killed of the remaining penalty, but a then a shot minute thirty later the West Coast team took advantage of a bad bounce in front of the Bulldog goalie and netted their second goal of the period.

 

The first period ended with the Bulldogs trailing 3-0.period. In the second period the teams traded goals, and the Bulldogs began the third period down by 3. West Coast finished off the Bulldogs in the third period with continued pressure and hard hitting scoring twice before the final buzzer and handing the Bulldogs a 6-1 loss.

 

Alliance - 5, San Jose Sharks - 0:  Early in the first period of Game 1 of the Mile High Thanksgiving Tournament, the Bulldogs withstood two 5 on 3 power plays by the San Jose Jr. Sharks.   After recovering the first five minutes of short handed play the Bulldogs pulled themselves together and scored twice before the first period came to a close.

 

The Bulldogs took the momentum into the second period and dominated play in the Sharks end of the ice. The reward, a power play goal and a 3-0 lead at the end of two periods. After the intermission between the 2nd and third period, the Bulldogs jumped on the Sharks early keeping the puck in the Sharks end and scored twice at even strength sealing the win and shutting out the Sharks.

Alliance Get 2 More Silver Stick Wins...

 

Alliance – 4, DJHA AA – 2:  The Bulldogs faced off against the DJHA AA Penguins in their first meeting of the season.   The Penguins jumped out to a one goal early in the firs period, and the Bulldogs countered quickly with a goal two shifts later. The Penguins then capitalized with a power play goal to take a 2-1 lead in the first period.

 

The Bulldogs again countered with a an even strength goal late in the first period. The second period saw the Penguins get into penalty trouble and the Bulldogs peppered the Penguin goalie with 19 shots only to come away with one goal for their efforts. The Bulldogs took a 3-1 lead into the third period and added a short handed goal. The Bulldogs tallied 40 shots on net in their 4-2 victory.

 

Alliance – 5, Dallas Stars Selects – 0:  The Bulldogs and the Stars Select AA met up for the second time this season. The Bulldogs skated past the Stars for 5-0 victory.  After scoring only one goal on 14 shots in the first period, the Bulldogs open up the game with 3 goals in the second period. They finished off the third period with short handed goal. In a game that had few penalties the Bulldogs dominated the play out shooting the Stars 36 to 6.

'Dogs Open Silver Sticks with Tight Shutout Win...

 

Alliance – 1, Jr. Brahamas – 0:  The Alliance 16U AA team started the Silver Stick Regional Tournament here in Dallas with a win, beating the Jr Brahmas AA by a score of 1 – 0.   The Bulldogs dominated the play in the Brahmas end of the ice for the majority of the game. It took the Bulldogs almost a full three periods before they could solve the Brahmas goalie.

 

After winning a face deep in the Brahmas end of the ice the Bulldog center retrieved the puck and moved around behind the net and then skated towards the point, drawing the Brahma defenseman to him, the Alliance player deftly slipped the puck to his teammate skating towards the net, who then quickly roofed the puck over the dropping Brahma goalie. It was the only goal scored during the game and was enough to get the Alliance Bulldogs a win in their first game of the tournament

Bulldogs Fall in Close Exhibition...

 

Attack 16U Prep - 3, Alliance 16UAA - 2:  The Bulldog 16U Midget Minor AA and the Attack 16U Prep finished the short weekend late Sunday night at Valley Ranch, with the Attack coming out on top in a 3-2 exhibition.  More on this game will be provided as it is received...
