Bantam AA NTXHL Championship!!!
Champions - Bantam 14U Prep
'Dogs Sweep Best 2 of 3 for League Title...
Alliance started to build momentum early in Game 1 with a single tally in the first, but continued to get better, scoring 2 more in the 2nd period, and then finishing strong with another 3 in the final frame for the resulting 6-0 victory and a 1-0 series lead. Game 2 couldn't have been more different.
After riding the momentum evidently continuing from Game 1, the Bulldogs jumped out to 3-0 first period lead in Game 2, and looked to be cruising home for the title after increasing their margin to 4-0 in the first minute of the second frame. The Stars had different ideas, though, and did not quit playing hard. The Stars let Alliance know they were still there with 3 goals in under 2 minutes to make it 4-3, and it was now "Katy Bar the Door" time.
The wild middle period would eventually see eleven (11) goals scored between the two teams, with the Stars scoring again in the final minute of the period to make it 8-6 Bulldogs headed into the last period. The 2nd period must have taken the gas out of both squads, as there was no more scoring until Alliance iced the game with an empty-netter with only 26 seconds left. The league title is the 14th for Alliance in it's 7 season history.
