PeeWee AAA “RUNNER-UP” in State Championships...
Texas Attack – 4, Alliance Bulldogs – 3: The 2nd game of the “best of 3” series for the State Championship, Alliance came on the ice fired up, ready to win game 2. The Texas Attack '95AAA were ready to ensure the series did not go to a 3rd game. The Attack opened up the scoring earning 2 goals in the first period.
Alliance tied the game at 2 with a beautiful break-away goal and then a great open ice pass, but would never take the lead. The Attack answered back with two more goals, and when the Bulldogs added goal number 3, the Attack switched goalies to try to stop any more points by Alliance. Though Alliance played excellent hockey throughout, the scoreboard never changed in their favor and the Attack took game 2 with a final score of 4-3.
The Alliance Bulldogs PeeWee AAA wishes the Texas Attack “GOOD LUCK” as they face the Colorado Thunderbirds next month at Regionals.

PeeWee AAA Comes Up Short…
Jr. Scots Bantam A – 6, Bulldogs – 4: Alliance PeeWee AAA came up against some good competition when they met the Jr. Scots Bantam A at ITC Wednesday night. Though the ‘Dogs showed some good passing, they allowed the Scots to take a two goal lead by the end of the first period. A more determined Bulldog team came out in the second period, and though they continued to show skill during their own penalty kills, they also failed to take advantage of four power play opportunities.
The Scots would have to work much harder to reach the Bulldog net in the second, and didn’t see another goal until there were only 49 seconds on the clock when a Bulldog attempted to clear the puck, but it bounced off the referee’s skate, stayed in the zone and the Scots picked it up and scored goal 3. The Jr. Scots turned right around and did it again ending the period with a 4-0 lead.
Bulldog determination finally reared its head in the third when Alliance used their passing ability and took advantage of a power play to start the period with their first goal of the game. The Scots answered back increasing their count to 5, then the Bulldogs gained control of the ice and scored the next three goals putting them just one point away of tying up the scoreboard.
With about 2 minutes left on the clock, the Bulldog goalie was pulled adding more manpower on the ice. Alliance held the Scots in their own zone those last few minutes, but at the end in an effort to clear the puck, the Scots found the Bulldogs empty net at the buzzer to end the game in a 4-6 loss for the Bulldogs.

Alliance Dominates Again...
Alliance - 10, Stars Select 95AA - 2: Meeting Saturday afternoon with the Dallas Stars Select 95AA, the Alliance Bulldogs PeeWee AAA made the first goal, took a 1-0 lead, and never lost that lead. Dominating the ice and the net in the first period, Alliance became a scoring machine, racking up 3 goals within 16 seconds.
The Bulldogs found the net while short-handed with 5:37 on the clock, 7 seconds later, the ‘Dogs won the face off and took the puck down the ice and past the opposing goalie with a back-handed goal. A full 9 seconds passed before the Bulldogs would be able to do it again, top-shelving the puck for goal number four.
In what would seem like a fairly uneventful 15 minutes compared with the first period, the ‘Dogs allowed the Stars to put one between the pipes while short-handed, and answered back with a goal of their own, extending the Alliance lead 6-1 in the second period.
Returning in the 3rd, the Bulldogs, down by two men, were unable to stop a 5 on 3 power play by the Stars Selects which earned the Stars their second goal of the game. Even with a strong lead, the Bulldogs continued to skate hard to make sure their opponents would not have any hopes of a win. Hustle at the net and a great rebound racked up goal number 7 for Alliance.
Two more Bulldog goals resulted while short handed. The last goal was smart clock-watching by the Bulldogs when, with just a few seconds left in the 3rd, they skated the puck from behind their own net and made a shot just in time to marry the puck with the net at the buzzer for goal 10, walking away with their 2nd win in as many games.

Bulldogs Cruise Past DJHA ’95 AA in Exhibition...
Alliance - 7, DJHA AA - 1: Valley Ranch was the site of this morning’s exhibition between the Alliance Bulldogs 12U PeeWee AAA and the DJHA AA Penguins. DJHA was able to find the net 3 minutes into the first period to take the lead on a full strength goal, but that would be their first and last goal of the game.
The Bulldogs would take another 6 minutes before they tied the game with a beautifully assisted short-handed goal. Alliance was in the penalty box for 10 of the 15 minutes in the first period, but managed to kill all of the penalty minutes without allowing any more goals by the Penguins. The first period ended in a 1-1 tie for the Bulldogs.
The next two periods were dominated by a much stronger Alliance team. A break away, great pass and slap shot at the start of the 2nd period gave the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead and the game-winning goal. DJHA had almost a minute of a 5 on 3 power play, but failed to convert the advantage into a point. Again, great passing in the zone led to goal number 3 for Alliance and a 2-shot lead at the end of the second. Smart play during penalty kills, taking advantage of power plays and moving the puck in the 3rd period are credited for the next four goals scored by the Bulldogs and the 7 - 1 win.
