Alliance Billets Team from Canada...

The Bulldogs are proud to host the Kelvin Clippers during this weekend's Texas Star Winter Classic.  The Clippers, a high school team from Winnipeg, are being billeted by several families from the Bulldogs' 12U A and Mite teams during their stay in Dallas.

Through the first day of tournament competition, Kelvin has posted a 2-0 record with victories over the Brandon Bulls and Austin Roadrunners.  A victory on Sunday night against the Oklahoma City Blazers would propel the Clippers into the 18U championship game on Monday.

The Clippers compete in the Winnipeg High School Hockey League, and currently sit in 2nd place in their league with a 15-2-1-1 record.

The school's hockey program is has been in existence for only 10 years, and the team is seeking their first ever league championship.  So far, the players and coaches have been treated to a Tex-Mex team dinner, and a visit to a Dallas Stars practice in Frisco.  Several of the players and families are also planning to attend the Dallas Stars game on Monday afternoon.

No Break for Mites & 16U Preps...

Most Alliance teams are off for the Christmas & New Years break, but two teams are already back in action, as the Mite Prep and 16U Prep teams are in tournaments this week.  The Mites already have 3 games under their belt, with one to go in the Silver Stick Western Regional in Plano.  The 16U Preps are way up in Vancouver, British Columbia, battling once again the older 18UAAA boys north of the border in the Richmond International Midget Tournament.

Alliance Weekend Sweep…

Alliance – 1, HP Jr. Scots – 0:  The Bulldogs got plenty of rest on Saturday, and were ready to see revenge against the HP Jr. Scots, and improve their NTXHL record.  It was a very fast paced game, and the Bulldogs scored in the first period, and fought hard to keep the Jr. Scots from getting one back.

It was a very tough game, and again it could have gone either way, but the Bulldogs used their determination to prevail.  Awesome Job Bulldogs!  Let’s get ’em again at Silver Sticks.

Alliance Weekend Sweep…

Ice Jets – 7, Alliance – 0:  The Bulldogs came out ready to play, and held the Ice Jets Major to only 1 goal in the 1st period of NTXHL play.  The boys did not play their best game, and worked hard to hang with them.  Alliance played defense most of the game, and did not get off many shots.

The Bulldogs will have to work harder when they face these same Ice Jets in the Silver Sticks Tournament.  Keep your head up Bulldogs, believe that you can do it, and amazing things will happen.

Alliance Weekend Sweep…

DJHA – 7, Alliance – 2:  The Bulldogs came out fighting for this Friday night NTXHL contest against the DJHA Major.  They held DJHA thru the first period, but then the Penguins went up by 2 goals.  It did not take the air out of the Bulldogs, and they fought back to score 2 goals and the second period ended with Alliance down by 1.

The Bulldogs fought hard, and then just ran out of steam midway thru the 3rd period.  It was a very fast passed game, but not one of the better games that they have played.  Alliance will face them again in 2 weeks at Silver Sticks, so watch out Penguins, the Bulldogs fight back!

Alliance Weekend Sweep…

Alliance – 5, OK City - 2:  The Bulldogs came out ready for this NTXHL tilt, because they knew that the Oklahoma City Blazers would want revenge!!  They proved that they were ready.  There was a lot of passing and assisting going on this game, and it is surprising that not more goals were scored.

Alliance played their positions extremely well, and passed the puck very well.  Coach Greg gave them an A+ on the overall performance of the game.  The Bulldogs had 21 shots on goal, and several other shots that were not recorded.   Again, all 5 goals were scored by 5 different players with an assist on all of them.   Way to go Bulldogs - Your hard work is really showing and everyone is extremely proud of all of you.  Go get the next one!!!

Bulldogs Back to Winning Ways

Alliance – 5, OK City - 4:  What an exciting NTXHL game against the Oklahoma City Blazers.  The fans all were on the edge of their seats the whole game.  The Blazers scored first in the 1st period for a quick 1-0 lead, but the Bulldogs answered in the 2nd period to tie it up at 1-1.

After 2 more goals by each team, it was a 3-3 tie going into the 3rd period, but the Bulldogs persisted and persevered with 2 goals in the 3rd and only giving up 1.  It was a well fought game by both teams.  Coach Greg felt that it was still not the best game that the Bulldogs had in them, but they played a lot better than in the past.  Alliance ended up with 24 shots on goal, and every goal was scored by a different player.   A well fought game and boy were those Bulldogs fired up!!!  Awesome JOB BULLDOGS!

Scots Blank Alliance...

HP Jr. Scots – 2, Alliance – 0:  The Bulldogs game out fired up and fought hard against the HP Jr. Scots, but fell short in the 3rd period giving up 2 goals.  The boys worked really hard the entire game, and only aloud 11 shots on goal.

At the other end, they only had 11 shots and could not hit the back of the net.  It was a very defensive game, and could have gone either way.  The boys will bounce back form this because they believe that they can!!  Get’m next time BULLDOGS!

Bulldog 2-Game Unbeaten String Halted

Ice Jets Major - 10, Alliance – 0:  The Bulldogs were just starting to hit their stride, when they ran into a very good Ice Jets Major club in NTXHL action Saturday in Euless, and the results were not good for the 'Dogs.  The loss temporarily halted the momentum of an Alliance unbeaten streak at 2, but the Bulldogs will be looking to start another one in 2 weeks when they square off against the DJHA Major Penguins on Saturday November 11th, at Polar Ice in Grapevine.

'Dogs Battle Stars to a Draw…

Alliance – 3, Stars Select – 3:  The Bulldogs were ready for the NTXHL re-match against the Dallas Stars Select.  Alliance started off a little slow, but was quick to answer in the 1st period.   The Dogs were “picking up the trash” in front of the net, and it paid off on 2 goals.  No matter what happened, the Bulldogs kept fighting and played a great game

Alliance was not going to let the Stars beat them again, and you could really see it in the way that they played.  The Bulldogs worked hard all game, and everyone there was extremely proud of them.  Awesome Job Bulldogs!  For more pics of this game, click HERE...

Alliance Mites Take First Win in Brief History…

Alliance – 3, OKC Blazers – 2:  The Mite Prep Bulldogs were ready and fired up, and wanting their first win in Alliance History.  They got it - beating the Oklahoma City Blazers 3 to 2 in a tough match Saturday afternoon at Polar Ice in Grapevine.  The Bulldogs out-shot the Blazers 31 to 15 with effort and energy that was exciting, but could not find the net more than 3 times.  The Bulldogs played a great game, and have improved a great deal over the past week.  Alliance will take this momentum into next week’s re-match against the Dallas Stars Select.  Congrats Bulldogs on your first win and go get ’em next week….

Bulldog Mites Drop NTXHL Opener…

Stars Select - 5, Alliance - 2:  The Alliance Mite Prep team played their first NTXHL game, a rematch of their first ever game 2 weeks ago, against the Dallas Stars Select on Saturday at the StarCenter in Farmers Branch.  The game started off slow, with a lot of good defense being played by both teams.

The Stars were the first to score in the second period for a 1-0 lead, but the Bulldogs answered quickly with 2 goals in 2½ minutes to take the lead at 2-1.  The Stars rebounded back with a tally of their own, and the second period ended with a 2-2 tie

The Bulldogs had a rough third period, giving up 3 unanswered goals to the Stars for the 5-2 final score.  The boys improved a great deal since the first match against these same Stars two weeks ago.  Go get ’em next time Bulldogs……

Alliance Announces New Mite Program for 2006-2007…

“The New Alliance Youth Hockey Association” is pleased to announce our teams and coaches for the upcoming 2006-2007 season, and the Bulldog family will be growing again.   With the purpose of escalating our foundation of development, expanding our reach across the DFW Metroplex and from the requests of many players and families throughout the area, Alliance will be fielding fifteen (15) teams next season, up from nine this past year.

Much like seasons past, we will again house teams to compete at the highest level of Tier I & Tier II competition across the country.  New for this coming season, however, there will be an Alliance Mite Program for the first time:

Alliance will furnish 2 Squirt teams and 1 Mite team this coming season.  The entire program will aspire to bring together a group of players who not only love the game but wish to benefit from the rigors of thorough skill development, concentrated small area training, and vigorous competition from one of the area’s most experienced and well respected coaches – Jouni Lehtola.

Our new Inaugural Alliance Mite Prep Team will be coached this season by Greg Glashauser.  Greg comes to Alliance from the Lone Star Wolves, and has been coaching youth hockey in the DFW area for more than a decade.  For more information about Greg, click HERE...
