The Alliance Youth Hockey Association extends their
congratulations to the
3 Tier I teams that won
Championships this weekend in
Phoenix. Respective 2006 RMD
Champions
advancing to the
USA Hockey Nationals are the
U18 Dallas Stars, the
U16 Colorado Thunderbirds '89,
and the
U14 Phoenix Firebirds.
The
2006 RMD U12 Tier I
Championship will be decided
March 17-19 in Dallas, when the
U12 Ice Jets will play the
Littleton Hawks.
Bantam Tier I (U14AAA)...
The
Alliance Bulldogs
look to defend
their 2005 RMD
Championship, but they will be facing two teams they little experience
with this season. They have defeated the Phoenix Firebirds twice,
but have not played the Colorado Thunderbirds. Colorado comes into the
tournament with a 21-22-7 record, but played 23 of those games against
Midget Minor AA competition. The T'Birds and Firebirds split the
two games they played against each other this year.
It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Midget Minor Tier I
(U16AAA)...
The
Alliance Bulldogs
look to defend
their
2005 RMD Championship, but it will be a tough road to hoe, with 5
other top flight teams to work through to get there. All of these six
teams participated in the
2006 Dallas Cup Tier I AAA
tournament back in late January, and if that was any indication, this RMD
Tournament will be exciting and very competitive, with any one
of the six teams capable of coming out on top.
By record alone, the
Thunderbird '89s look to be the favorite, with their 10-2-1 record
against the other teams in the tournament. On a positive note for a
couple of teams, their 2 losses (to Alliance & Outlaws) and 1 tie
(Outlaws) came in the last month and in 3 of their last 4 against RMD teams.

Midget Major Tier
II (U18AA)...
The
Alliance Bulldogs
look to avenge their loss in the Championship Game of
the 2005 RMD Championships, but
they will have
some tough teams to battle in Denver. First up
for the Bulldogs will be the
Utah Jr. Wildcats,
followed by
Arvada, CO,
and then the 13th Ranked
Highland Hills Jaguars
sporting a 23-5-5 season record.
