Alliance Wins Dallas Cup U16 Tier I AAA Championship!!!
Both teams came into the final undefeated, and it was the first win this season over the 5th Ranked T'Birds in 4 tries for the Bulldogs, who lost to these same Thunderbirds in the final of their King of the Rockies (KOR) Tournament back in October. This tournament was also a warm-up for the 2006 Rocky Mountain District Championships, as all 6 RMD Tier I U16 teams played in this year's Dallas Cup. The 11th Ranked Bulldogs finish the tournament 5-0-0, and improved their overall season record to 27-11-5.
Chicago Takes Tier II Dallas Cup...
Congratulations to the Chicago Flames, Dallas Cup Invitational 2006 Tier II AA Champions, 3-2 winners over the Houston Wild in a very close and competitive Championship Game Sunday afternoon at Polar Ice in Grapevine. The Flames, coming into the tournament Ranked #1 by the National Hockey Rankings web site, went undefeated for the weekend at 5-0-0.

The game schedules of the Dallas Cup 2006 Tournament have been posted, and the U16AA Division team match-ups are posted to the schedule as well. The U16AAA team match-ups will be posted as soon as they are determined.
Sunday, December 18, 2005 U16AA Teams Announced...
The teams have been selected and announced for the U16AA Division of the Dallas Cup 2006 Tournament, and the new division will have six (6) teams in its first year.
The U16AA field is looking to be very competitive, as four of the six are currently ranked in the National Top 10 of the Midget Minor Tier II (U16AA) rankings by the National Hockey Rankings.

Wednesday, December 14, 2005 U16AAA Teams Announced...
The teams have been selected and announced for the U16AAA Division of the Dallas Cup 2006 Tournament, and the division has expanded from eight teams last year to ten (10) teams this year.
This year's field is looking to be one of the most competitive tournaments, as seven of the ten are currently ranked in the National Top 25 of the Midget Minor Tier I (U16AAA) rankings by the United States High School Hockey Online.

Based on requests we have received, we have now added a U16AA Division to the Dallas Cup 2006 Tournament. If your team would be interested in playing in a U16AA Division, please send an email to Alliance Midget Minor AA Dave Fry at davefry29@yahoo.com, as we are now accepting U16AA applications.
If your U14AAA team would be interested in playing in a U16AA Division, please send an email to Alliance Bantam AAA Coach Greg Vanover at gvan23@yahoo.com, as we will accept Bantam AAA teams into the U16AA Division.
Thursday, October 27, 2005 U16 AAA Application Process Closed...
We are no longer accepting applications for the U16AAA Division of the Dallas Cup, and teams that were selected have been notified. Once those teams have confirmed and paid their balances, we will announce the teams, and begin providing additional information to them and here on the web site.
We want to thank all the teams that applied, as there were many, and hope that we can possibly expand to more teams next year.

The 4th Annual Dallas Cup Invitational Tournament will be held in Dallas January 27-29, 2006, and this year, the Alliance Youth Hockey Association is proud to be the Host for the U16 Minor Midget AAA and Minor Midget AA Divisions.
The U18 Major Midget AAA Division will be hosted by the Dallas Stars Major Midget AAA club. Each year, some of the top Tier I AAA programs send their best to Dallas for this tough tournament. Our Tournament will be played at the training facilities of the NHL Dallas Stars in Valley Ranch, Euless, and Farmers Branch, Texas. The Dr. Pepper StarCenter facilities are also home to the Dallas Stars Major Midget AAA Hockey Club and the Alliance Youth Hockey Association. Each of these facilities maintains 2 NHL size ice sheets, 8 full time dressing rooms with showers and much more. The Dallas Cup Invitational Tournament is USA Hockey Tier I Sanctioned. As a condition of acceptance, all teams must be able to provide a USA Hockey roster prior to play and all out-of-town teams must stay at an authorized tournament hotel. Game Format is as follows:
Tournament game outcomes will be scored as follows:
Points for games:
All round robin games ending in ties will remain tied at the end of regulation time, with one point awarded to each team. Overtime will be played in the semi-final and final games only.
All games will use the 3 - man referee system.
Penalties:
If in the third
period the goal differential reaches 5 goals, running time will
begin. If the difference should go to 4 goals, stop time will resume. All teams must be able to play to the completion of the tournament.
Advancement to Final Game:
In case of ties between teams when determining advancement, the tie-breaking rules will be as follows:
1. Head to Head Outcome 2. Final goal differential (a maximum of 5 per game) 3. Fewest combined Goals Against 4. Fewest combined Penalty Minutes 5. Coin flip
In the event a semi or final game should end in a tie, the tie will be broken in the following manner:
* Penalties incurred during overtime will result in a 4 on 3 power play, including during the 3 on 3 overtime. If 2 penalties are incurred by the same team, a 5 on 3 power play will be awarded. At no time will there be less than 3 skaters on the ice for a team, including during overtime. If a 4 on 3 power play occurs during a 3 on 3 overtime, when the penalty expires, a 4th skater will be allowed for 4 on 4 play until the first whistle, at which the 3 on 3 shall be re-instituted.
Player Eligibility:
These rules may be changed prior to the tournament to coincide with any change in the tournament format.
